Expeditie Alone II

After 2 years of hard preparation, all materials very carefully and repeatedly tested such as skis, pulka, satellite phone, emergency beacon, stove, tents and clothing. The expedition will end in February 2012 start. Timetable: Brussels-Montreal-Toronto (Canada). Then cargo plane from Toronto to Resolute Bay (New Territories, northernmost point of Canada). After two days stay in Resolute Bay, all the material put in order again in the carriage, gasoline, cooking fires, ski + full check up!

The expedition starts between the islands of Cornwallis well into the Arctic Ocean. Ski Boot + load pulka of about 130 kg for a period of 65 days to go and a range of 1120 km.

Purpose:

After about 30 days to reach the Magnetic North Pole (560 km) and then again back to Resolute Bay! The skiing to the Magnetic North Pole and back was never "alone and autonomy" achieved!

It is a first for polar expeditions and certainly a Belgian premiere!
